I bought a Cricut Imagine....

Sorry I haven't been on in a while. Been super busy with school out and summer on the way. Well I finally broke down and bought a Cricut Imagine this weekend, now I have to wait. I am excited to see all of the new features that my Big E does not have, though a little nervous about figuring it out. As soon as it comes in, I will be sure to post my project.

Hope you all had a great and safe weekend!

My Pink Stamper--Challenge #9--Use Glitz, Glam and Glitter in your project!

Okay so this is my last one....
I was not patient enough to let it dry, but the "fabulous" has glimmer mist and glossy accents and the shoe has black glitter glue. I will post another picture when it dries, but this will have to do for know so that it qualifies for the challenge.

My Pink Stamper--Challenge #8--Make a summer themed project!

The challenge deadline is MIDNIGHT!!
Gives me a little more time. I made this card using Forever Young, first time I have used this cartridge. I am liking making the cards, very quick and gratifying.
Hope you like it!

My Pink Stamper--Challenge #7--Make a Scrapbook Page!

This is the last of the challenges I was able to complete this weekend, though still have a little time to make some of the others, though with back to work tomorrow I don't see it happening, but we will see. I hope you enjoyed all the challenge items I posted. Please email me or leave a comment if you have any questions.

My Pink Stamper--Challenge #6--Incorporate a TAG into your project!

Super Cute Birdies! First project using Straight from the Nest! HELLO!

My Pink Stamper--Challenge #5- Any 3-D item OR if that is too much of a challenge then add a 3-D item on your scrapbook page or card!

Absolutely LOVE the way these turned out....I made these grunge flowers using acetate, alcohol inks, cuttlebug and glue gun. My girls couldn't stop talking about them. WARNING: Be very careful with the hot glue because it will melt the acetate.

My Pink Stamper--Challenge #4: Make something with a Mother's Day Theme!

This is the card I made for my mom for today. I used some new glimmer mist and Tim Holtz distress inks. I also made the flower out of the Grunge Paper and it made an awesome embelishment. I used teh 5 petal flower on the George and Basice Shapes Cartridge and cut the grunge paper with multicut function on cricut. I only had to cut the grunge paper two times. The video to make the flowers I found one day on youtube.

My Pink Stamper--Challenge #3--Make a card, scrapbook page, or 3-D item with a breast cancer theme

I copied the technique shared on the video using Plantin Schoolbook and my Gypsy to make the pink ribbon. Very Simple, but fun!

My Pink Stamper-Challenge #2--Make a card or scrapbook page using Kraft cardstock.

This card used kraft card with a kraft tag using the resist technique I have posted before. It turned out great though this picture does not show all the detail. I used embossing powder on the kraft tag to create resist effect. I also used versamark for the flourish and used Perfect Pearls in pearl to add some glimmer.

My Pink Stamper--Challenge #1 - Anything Cupcake!!!

I made this card using the Doodlecharms Cricut Cartridge and the Cuttlebug for the icing. Added some stickles for BLING!

National Scrapbook Day 2011

Hello!
I have not been on my blog in a while and do apologize because I had a ton of comments needing to be posted. Anyway.....I hope all of you enjoyed National Scrapbook Day! I started my day with shopping at Archivers (AGAIN...I had a coupon and they had some cool make in takes! LOL!) and then visited a local scrapbook store For Keeps Sakes that was giving away a Tim Holtz Vagabond. Well I didn't win, but they had some cool games like a cake walk but only giving away scrapbook items! Overall, had a great trip!

After I got home I became inspired to try the challenges with one of my favorite blogs, My Pink Stamper. I did not get all of the challenges done, but 7 out of 12 isn't bad, plus the more challenges you complete and post, the more chances you have to win a Cricut Imagine!!!!! So if you are reading this today, the deadline is Monday, May 9, 2011 in the PM, head on over to www.mypinkstamper.com. There are really some great videos for inspiration.

I hope you all had a great day! PS, Happy Mother's Day!

Took a road trip to Archivers.....here is what I did with my Make N Take

Today's Make n Take at Archivers was a technique demonstrating some Tim Holtz  products, using clear embossing powder to create a resist and his new stains on Kraft paper. I absolutely love his work, though sometimes have problems including it into my style. I took a class when he visited St.Louis, MO a couple of years ago and we altered a canvas. Well, I was also lucky enough to recieve the demo canvas he created for the class and he autographed it. Maybe I will take some pictures of it tomorrow for my blog.

I challenged myself to use this make in take on something, so I decided on this card. Just added the twine. I hope you like!

And of course I had to by some more Tim Holtz to recreate some more.......

A Card for a Friend

I had a lot of time last weekend...too much time, because I watched some videos on you tube for some new inspiring techniques and then I went shopping. I found these really cool PEARL PENS by Viva Decor at Susana's Custom Art and Card Design They keep their shape and make perfect circles and domes. I also watched a technique from Jennifer McGuire on youtube using alcohol inks on glossy paper....WELL this is what I came up with. Turned out very cute.

Here is a closer look at the use of the pearl pens. I used a flourish stamp from Fancy Pants using Versamark ink as a guide and then used a black pearl pen to make the design. The pink glitter is a Stickles used very thick to mimic jewels.

Two new cards this week...

I originally made this card to K Andrew's (http://www.gettingcricky.com/) challenge, but have been extremely busy and did not post it in time, but wanted to share anyway. This care was made with only scraps. I seem to be reaching for my scraps more and more.

I absolutely love the way this card came out. Again the entire card was made with scraps. I made a card very similar to this one a couple of weeks ago and loved the way it turned out. It will probably be a card that could be used for many different occasions.
A lot of texture with this card by using the cuttlebug embossing folders, pop dots (or dimensionals) and glossy effects for the "Thank You" tag.

Thinking of you.....

I created this card using kraft cards I purchased at Hobby Lobby. A new technique I tried was using a cloud cut from the Big E and used chalk to simulate the look for a sky and clouds. I then took a pen to outline the clouds to add dimension. I love the way it turned out. Very simple and easy.

Simply Sunday Challenge: Sugar & Spice with ALOT of Nice! from Getting Cricky with K Andrews

I made this card for the Simply Sunday Challenge: Sugar & Spice Challenge from Getting Cricky with K Andrews http://www.gettingcricky.com/
I love to have a lot of texture to my projects, though sometimes due to time, I don't always add it. I really took my time with this card using the cuttlebug for texture, along with stickles, ribbon, and glossy affects.
It turned out really cute! I hope you enjoy.
